  • When The Textile Club started in February 1891, it met in Young's Hotel in Boston at Court Avenue and 20 Court Street. Fifty years later this area was part of the notorious Scolly Square. Young's was internationally famous for its broiled tripe and broiled scrod, according to Boston Post newspaper. The Textile Club met there until Young's closed its doors on Friday, May 13, 1927.

When Young's closed, The Textile Club, together with the rest of Young's clientele and workers, moved to the Parker House where the Club met through 2002. Records of those meetings are archived here

On June 18, 2009, the Club held its 947th Meeting and voted to dissolve as of June 30, 2009 and transfer money in The Textile Club Annual Scholarship fund to the Dick Bourdon Flock Fund at UMass Dartmouth and the Club records, artifacts, and remaining funds to the American Textile History Museum at Lowell, Massachusetts. The dissolution of the Textile Club was reported on August 3, 2009 in Southern Textile News, which itself went out of business after its August 17, 2009 issue.
