Steve Rosenthal

Steven Rosenthal, born 1941, in New York City, studied electrical
engineering at Tufts University where he received a BSEE in 1963. After
serving as an officer in the US Navy he joined American Finish and Chemical
Company (AFCO) in 1965. There he held various management positions focusing
the company towards the development of their flock adhesive business. In
1997 he became president of AFCO. Since the acquisition of AFCO by Noveon,
Inc in 2002 he has held the position of Global Product Development Manager -
Flocking. Mr. Rosenthal has recently spent extensive time in China
studying the development of the Asian flock market.
When the American Flock Association was founded in 1985, Mr. Rosenthal was
a charter member of the Board of Directors. He still holds a position on
the Board as well as being Chairman of the Promotions and Technology
committees. He edited the AFA "Design With Flock in Mind" booklet. Since
its inception in 1994 Mr. Rosenthal has been a regular instructor at the AFA
Flock School, where he has taught the adhesives segment as well as classes
in adhesive application techniques and physical testing of finished flocked
goods. During his career he has presented to the American, European, and
Chinese flock associations.
In July 2007 Mr. Rosenthal completed his 42 year career with
Lubrizol/Noveon/AFCO and is now available for limited special assignments on
a consulting basis.
