Gordon Osborne

November 6, 1906-August 22, 2000

Gordon Osborne held the position of chairman, director and, for eighteen years, treasurer of the Northern Textile Association (now known as National Textile Association).

Mr. Osborne began his business career with Warwick Mills in 1934 and served as its president from 1948 to 1994. Warwick, a technical and industrial fabric producer in New Ipswich, New Hampshire, is the longest continuously active sustaining member company in the Association.

Gordon Osborne joined Northern Textile Association in 1927 while a student at Lowell Technological Institute (now University of Massachusetts - Lowell) and was awarded the Association's Student Medal in 1928. He loved the textile industry, its people and this Association. His loyalty and support for the Association and the industry were recognized in 1979 with the award of the Association Silver Medal and in 1994 with the award of the Gold Medal, making him the Association's only "triple-medalist." Gordon was an outdoorsman and a scholar as well as a great personal friend to many in the industry.

Gordon was survived by his wife, Marjorie, who continues to be a warm friend to and loyal supporter of the Association and the American Textile History Museum in Lowell, Mass.

He was inducted September 8, 2008, into the American Textile History Museum. Lowell, Massachusetts
