Ted Matthews

Vice President--Corporate Communications, Springs Global US, Inc.

Ted was named vice president of Corporate Communications for Springs in October 2001 after having served previously as director of public relations. He manages all of the company’s internal and external communications, as well as community relations, corporate contributions, public affairs and the Springs Political Action Committee. He joined the company in 1987 as manager of employee communications.

He serves as the company's liaison with textile and manufacturing trade associations and have been active in various capacities with several associations over the years.

Prior to Springs, Ted worked three years in public relations for Duke Energy in Charlotte and was a journalist for four years at newspapers in Anderson, South Carolina, and Chicago and Edwardsville, Illinois. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, he resides in Fort Mill, South Carolina, with his wife, Debbie, and their three daughters.

He is a director of Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, S.C., Good Folks of York County and York County Adult Day Care, chair of United Way of York County, and a director and past chair of Crime Stoppers of York County. He is a member of the York District Friends of Scouting Committee, the Winthrop University Community Leaders Group and the Public Relations Society of America.
