Harvey, 85, of Atlantic Avenue, died Sunday, March 4, 2007, at Health Alliance-Leominster Hospital after being stricken ill. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Irene (Lamoureux) Harvey. He was born in Lowell, the son of the late Valerie and Agnes (Laferiere) Harvey. Mr. Harvey attended local school and was a graduate of Saint Joseph’s High School in Lowell. He earned a bachelor’s degree in textile chemistry from the Lowell Textile Institute. Mr. Harvey served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was employed with numerous textile companies, serving in various capacities over a 50-year career, ultimately retiring as vice president of manufacturing from Vertipile, Inc. of Leominster. Mr. Harvey was a longtime member of several barbershop choruses, held membership with SPEBSQSA for many years and passed his love of singing on to all of his children. He was proudly active amongst Alcoholics Anonymous and served as chairman of the board for the Clinton Center. He is survived by four sons, Bruce M. Harvey and his wife, Phyllis, of Greenwich R.I., Brian R. Harvey and his wife, Carol, of Durham Conn., Clifford L. Harvey and his wife, Cheryl, of Troy Maine,; and John J. Harvey of Boston; three daughters, Valerie A. Harvey of Warren R.I., Paula A. Harvey of Lunenburg, and Lisa Y. Harvey of Deerfield; a brother, Donald Harvey and his wife, Chi Yun, of Lowell, a son-in-law William G. Turner Jr., of Fitchburg, 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are to be held privately at the convenience of the family and are under the direction of the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home in Clinton.
