NTA's American Flock Association exhibited members' products
at HD Expo 2005, May 5-7, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The American Flock Association exhibited at the Hospitality Design Expo in Las Vegas May 5-7, 2005. This was our second year at the HDEXPO and the members who manned the booth felt that it was an excellent opportunity to promote flocked products and educate potential customers about flock. The AFA booth featured flocked blackout drapery, flocked upholstery fabrics, and flocked blankets and showed the flexibility of the technology with materials, color, print, and finishing techniques.
While the level of activity was not as high as in 2004, we were impressed by the quality and level of interest shown by those who did stop by. We had 49 documented visitors. Of these there were 24 asking about blackout drapery fabric, 13 upholstery fabrics, 8 flocked blankets, 2 transfers, and 4 flocked wallcoverings, with 19 who expressed general interest or interest in other applications. The details of these contacts have been distributed to all members.
Additional contacts were made with other exhibitors who were interested in flocked fabric or currently carry flocked fabrics in their lines.
Member booth personnel had these comments about the show:
- “HD Expo is an excellent show for our roll to roll members. It is well attended and exposes us to a market in which we should have more involvement. Also, there are many exhibitors that should be more aware of flock or are already buying and reselling flock. So, between attendees and exhibitors HD Expo gives us a good audience.”
- “The disappointment is more of our members don't take advantage of the AFA being at the show.”
- “Location - Location - Location!!
We had an excellent location this year which gave us more visibility with the increased traffic. The preferred location coupled with the "eye catching" signs (i.e. BLACKOUT - FLAME RETARDANT –etc) caught the attention of the exhibitors and attendees and encouraged people to stop by and inquire about the flocked products.”
