Promotional Activities

Read the Promotions Committee Report delivered at NTA's 149th Annual Meeting.

The "National Textile Association Guide to American-made Fabrics," a 100-page full-color glossy directory of the members of NTA, with information on their products and services is available from the NTA office at 617-542-8220 or info@nationaltextile.org. The guide lists 44 knitters, 22 weavers, 29 fabric finishers, 41 suppliers of fiber or yarn, and 30 other textile-related companies.

Material World

The title of our panel discussion at Material World September 29-October 1, 2003, in Miami Beach, Florida, was 2005 and the American Hemisphere. Our panelists were:
  • Mary T. O’Rourke, Managing Director, Jassin-O’Rourke, New York, New York
  • Thomas Haugen, Director, Li & Fung (Trading) Ltd., Hong Kong, China and
  • Laura Bobadilla, Sourcing Director, Central America/CBI, JC Penney.

Auto Interiors Expo

NTA's American Flock Association displayed flocked products at the Auto Interiors Show, May 13-15, 2003, in Detroit, Michigan.

Guatemala Apparel Sourcing Show

The National Association (NTA) attended the Apparel Sourcing Show 2003 in Guatemala, May 7-9, 2003 with the purpose of:
  1. Meeting apparel manufacturers in the Central America and Caribbean Region.
  2. To introduce National Textile Association, which represents most of the major wool fabric and yarn manufacturers in the United States.
  3. To provide booth space for NTA member The Forstmann Company, the largest woolen fabric manufacturer in the US.
  4. To explore the opportunity to export woolen fabrics.
  5. To explore the possibilities of taking advantage of favorable access to the Guatemala garment factories that use US made woolen fabrics. To educate people on the wool industry
