Sullivan, Seabury Stanton, Melville Weston, Roy A. Jenkins, J. Rogers Flather, Frank W. Lyman, John P. Shaw, W.F. Staples, Paul E. Crocker, Ward Cheney, Elmer L. Ward and M.G. Chace, Jr. have associated themselves with the intention of forming a corporation in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 180, of the General Laws, under the name of Northern Textile Association, for the purpose of the following: To provide an organization in which members of the textile industry in the Northern states may work together for the improvement of the industry in the area, and, by co-operation with others, bring about conditions which will encourage a healthy and prosperous industry for the benefit of all; and further, to provide a means for stimulating and securing among the people of the Northern states an appreciation of the regional benefits derived from the Northern textile industry as well as an understanding of the industry's characteristics and problems. To encourage scientific investigation and experiment as to the method of manufacturing textiles; to collect and impart information relating to the textile industry; to promote social intercourse among the members of the corporaton; to establish and maintain a library of works on textiles in the City of Boston; to act with other corporation or organizations interested in or connected with the textile industry; to hold, sell and dispose of, invest and reinvest funds, stocks and securities acquired by the corporation; and, in furtherance and not in limitation of the foregoing, to take and hold by gift, purchase, lien or any other manner, either absolutely or in trust for any purposes, any property, real or personal, and to make payments to and accept payments from and occupy premises with and hold meetings with other organizations, incorpored or unincorporated, interested in or connected with textiles; and have complied with the provisions of the Statutes of this Commonwealth in such case made and provided as appears from the Articles of Organization of said corporation, duly approved by the Commissioner of Corporations and Taxation and recorded in this office; Now, therefore, I, Edward J. Cronin, Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Do hereby Certify that said William F. Sullivan, Seabury Stanton, Meville Weston, Roy A. Jenkins, J. Rogers Flather, Frank W. Lyman, John F. Shaw, W.P. Staples, Paul E. Crocker, Ward Cheney, Elmer L. Ward and M.G. Chace, Jr., their associates and successors , are legally organized and established as, and are herby made, an existing corporation as of April 22, 1953 under the name of Northern Textile Association with the powers, rights and privileges, and subject to the limitations, duties and restrictions, which by law appertain thereto.
