Roger Milliken Awarded NTA Silver Medal

Resolution

WHEREAS: Roger Milliken is broadly recognized as the world's leading manufacturers of textiles;

WHEREAS: For five decades Roger Milliken has led Milliken and Company in its position of worldwide preeminence in the research, development, production and marketing of textiles;

WHEREAS: Roger Milliken has given tirelessly of himself to projects indispensible to the continued international competitiveness of the American textile industry, including the founding of the Institute of Textile Technology, the Crafted With Pride in the U.S.A. program, and the vital movement by American textile and apparel producers to introduce and disseminate Quick Response technology;

WHEREAS: The hard work and high principles which have guided Roger Milliken in his dedicated pursuit of the aforementioned goals are consistent with the highest ideals to which the Northern Textile Association is devoted;

BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED:

    That the Silver Medal of the Northern Textile Association is awarded to Roger Milliken in recognition of his tireless efforts on behalf of the American textile industry and its employees.
      Given at the 135th Annual Meeting of the Northern Textile Association, Wychmere Harbor Club, Harwichport, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, the 24th day of September, 1989.
