The NTA Gold Medal

Background

The first Gold Medal ever given by the Association was presented to Senator Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts on September 15, 1965 in appreciation ans with admiration, affection and respect for the memory of his brother, the late President John F. Kennedy.

The Recipients

3rd such recognition, given to Gordon Osborne, Chairman, Treasurer, and Director of NTA, September 19, 1994, For distinghished service since 1927.

2nd such recognition, given to William F. Sullivan, June 12, 1979 (posthumously); presented to Helen B. Sullivan, For 29 years service as NTA chief officer.

1st such recognition, given to President John F. Kennedy, September 15, 1965 (posthumously); Presented to the Honorable Edward M. Kennedy as a sign of our respect and affection for his brother, President John F. Kennedy [His short-term cotton quota was the predecessor to the Multifiber Arrangement that controlled world-wide imposition of textile import quotas until 2005.] Medal inscribed John Fitzgerald Kennedy.
