RETURN TO NTA MEDALS AND AWARDS

William F. Sullivan Awarded Gold Medal

The following Resolution was unanimously VOTED at the June 12, 1979, Northern Textile Association Board of Government Meeting:

"For 29 years WILLIAM F. SULLIVAN, Jr., served this Association at its chief officer. During that time, he foresaw the need to expand our membership, from its original base of cotton manufacturers to its present broadly-based membership, representing virtually every aspect of textile production. Recognizing the necessity for change and flexibility, he was also able to persuade our suppliers and customers to join with us in a combination of mutual interests.

It was through this coalition, devised to emphasize our importance to the nation's well beign, that he succeeded in strengthening our industry, by encouraging its orderly growth and expanding its influence. This united front has provided us with a firm foundation upon which rests both our past and future progress.

William F. Sullivan based his actions on integrity and high principle. For this, he was widely respected, not only by ourselves, but by those who knew him throughout industry, labor and government. We of the Northern Textile Association are the befeficiaries of this legacy.

We cannot add to the honor of his memory. We do wish to acknowledge our debt to him. His vision and actions ever inspired us with confidence and hope.

Now, Therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Association's Medal of Gold be presented to

    HELEN B. SULLIVAN
On behalf of WILLIAM F. SULLIVAN, Jr."
