Fundamentals of Flocking

August 6-7, 1990, Southeastern Massachusetts University, North Dartmouth Mass.

The AFA, in conjunction with the Textile Sciences Department of Southeastern Massachusetts University (SMU), sponsored a seminar on flocking August 6-7 at the SMU campus in North Dartmouth, Mass.

A total of 72 attendees, from as far away as Japan, were present for a program presented by five members of the SMU faculty and seven representatives of the flocking industry. The program, which was entitled "Fundamentals of Flocking," explored all aspects of flocking including 3-D and textile manufacturing processes. A variety of social events, including a clam bake, were held in conjunction with the program.

Attendee evaluations indicated that the seminar was very highly regarded. The seminar will likely be repeated. Many thanks to Professor William Silveira, Chairman of the Texile Sciences Department, for his substantial contribution to the program.
