BURBERRY JOINS CASHMERE AND CAMEL HAIR MANUFACTURERS INSTITUTE

BOSTON, September 26, 2005 -- Karl Spilhaus, President of the Cashmere and Camel Hair Manufacturers Institute, the global association of manufacturers of luxury fiber products, announced today the inclusion of the Institute’s first member from the international luxury brand community, Burberry Limited. “The inclusion of the luxury retailer, Burberry, in the ranks of the membership of CCMI is a tremendous boost for this organization. The Burberry name is known worldwide for luxury products and commitment to quality and integrity. As our first member from the international luxury brand community this adds strength to CCMI’s worldwide campaign for quality and integrity of luxury fiber products.”

The Cashmere and Camel Hair Manufacturers Institute will continue its worldwide campaign to promote quality in cashmere products through education at the manufacturer, retail and consumer level as well as enforcement action against mislabellers. Spilhaus said this season promises to be a very important one given the high demand for luxury cashmere products and the recent increases in raw material prices. “The Institute will be extremely diligent and is grateful for the support of Burberry in its efforts,” concluded the CCMI official.
