U.S. Wool Products Labeling Act of 1939, as amended

Wool Fabric Labelling Code of Practice

• Code of Practice promulgated by the International Wool Textile Organisation (IWTO).
• For wool products manufactured on or after January 1, 2007, the Code of Practice has the force of law in the U.S. as an amendment to the Wool Products Labeling Act, with fines of up to $11,000 per violation. Furthermore, U.S. Customs and Border Protection may hold up shipments at the port if there are violations of the Act.
